Cultivation of Professionals

 The school has 3 bachelor’s degree programs, namely Traffic & Transportation, Traffic Equipment & Control and Logistics Engineering, and at the same time offers an “Excellency Program” experimental class for training senior engineering professionals with a specialization in traffic & transportation, Traffic equipment and control engineering and a 2+2 Sino-Australian joint educational program specializing in traffic & transportation engineering. It is only school among all “985” universities that provide academic disciplines in traffic & transportation (rail transit) and traffic equipment and control, early or late bringing along nearly 10,000 graduates and undergraduates catering to all demands in the traffic and transportation field. Her overall education has been staying on top among the domestic advanced level, her employment rate upon graduation standing steadily over 96%. Presently, she has congregated on campus 1411 undergraduates, 457 graduate students and 144 doctoral candidates.

1、Traffic & Transportation

Aiming at fostering senior engineering and management professionals with a systematic mastery of operation and management in modern transportation, with comprehensive technological and managerial knowledge and capability, able to be engaged in the organization, management, planning and designing of traffic & transportation; production, operation and logistics management as well as modern logistics engineering for traffic & transportation enterprises, which was determined as the key undergraduate discipline of Hunan Province in 2005, passed the national engineering education accreditation in 2008 and approved as a national specialty construction point. In the last decade, it has been steadily ranked among the nationwide top three similar specialties.

2. Traffic Equipment & Control Engineering

Reposed on the superiority of the state key discipline of “Transportation Vehicle Operation Engineering” and with several decades of cultivation of high-grade professionals, this specialty has been enjoying high reputation in the fields of domestic rail transit, equipment manufacturing etc., which was listed as a special discipline in latest specialty catalogue promulgated by the Ministry of Education in 2012. This specialty covers the professional directions of locomotive engineering, engineering machinery, CAD/CAM, urban transit vehicle & multiple-unit high-speed train, mainly training senior technical professionals for traffic and transport equipment engineering.

3. Logistics Engineering

The Logistics Engineering specialty in our school was authorized to award doctor's

degree in logistics engineering in 2003, and our undergraduate specialty was established on the foundation of recruitment of students for doctoral and master’s degree for years in succession for cultivation of senior engineering and management professionals in the line of logistics engineering. It has been listed on the top among similar specialties in the nationwide specialty appraisal.
